THE WEINWURMS l.t.r.: Georg, Julia, Helmut Sen., Hermine, Wolfgang, Birgit, Agnes, Helmut + Nachwuchs Simona
Since 2001, Anton’s grandson Georg Weinwurm is head of the winery, energetically
supported by all members of the family. Cornerstones of the 1979 born vintner were the
Agro-HAK Mistelbach, his practical training at Austrian top-wineries as well as at
the Andrew Peace Winery in Australia. With a wine production of more than 13 million
litres annually, Andrew Peace is considered to be one of the giants of this branch. The
up-to-date technologies of vinification that Georg Weinwurm experienced in Australia constituted
an interesting contrast to the more or less traditional, close-to nature methods of his winery.
In 2006 Georg Weinwurm passed the cellar master-exam – of course with distinction.
