VINIFICATION To harvest by the hand and with small boxes are our guarantees for Weinwurms best quality. The early harvest by the end of August brings fine vibrancy. Gentle pressing with a pneumatic press, 5 hours maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 17,5° C bring fine fruit and elegant structure.
TRAINING SYSTEM The medium hight trellis training system and the high canopy povide the beries with optimal photosynthesis and the best air circulation for real good berries. The cane pruning system leaves just one eye to shoot in spring. Additionally to the green harvest this brings a maximum of quality into our berries.
TERROIR In the extremely hot vineyard called Schilling the Rivaner earns all its finesse. The soft hill facing south has different tongues of brown earth, loam and loess. This offers ideal conditions for fine fruit, vibrant herbs and elegant acidity. All grapes growing here, have body at lively easiness, because the adjacent forest Plot makes the nights cool, providing the berries with vibrant elegance.
WEATHER 2017 Again, our vineyards had to struggle with late frost, wich has pretty much reduced the harvest. The dryness during the hot summer was also demanding for the vines. This was a year when our vines were able to prive that they are Weinwurms fittest grape wines. In September, cool, rainy weather set in which finally brought a nice acid bow in Weinwurms most colorful assortment.
